What is it?
Salicylic acid is a beta hydroxy acid (BHA) derived from willow bark and other natural sources. Its oil-soluble nature allows it to penetrate deep into pores, making it a popular choice for treating acne and blackheads.
How does it work?
In dermatology, salicylic acid is commonly used in cleansers, toners, and spot treatments for oily and acne-prone skin. Its exfoliating properties help remove excess oil, dead skin cells, and impurities, preventing clogged pores and breakouts.
