Double Cleansing
Double cleansing is a two-step process that starts with an oil-based cleanser to break down makeup, sunscreen, and excess oil, followed by a water-based cleanser to remove sweat, dirt, and leftover residue for a deep, thorough cleanse.
How does it work?
The first step of double cleansing breaks down makeup, sunscreen, and excess oil, while the second step washes away sweat, dirt, and impurities from within the pores. It’s especially beneficial in the evening, though some also choose to double cleanse in the morning. This method leaves skin thoroughly clean without stripping its natural oils, creating the perfect base for serums and moisturizers.
However, it’s important to ensure your cleansers don’t contain exfoliating ingredients—especially if used twice daily—as over-exfoliating can lead to irritation and a compromised skin barrier.
