What to expect during and after a Belkyra™ treatment?

Belkyra™ treatment requires multiple injections into the fat layers under the chin in a short 20 minute procedure. The area to be treated is marked out and the injection amount varies depending on the patient's anatomy. There will be swelling immediately after the treatment and for up to ten days later until the liquid dissipates. Bruising, numbness or tingling, redness, and mild pain can be experienced after treatment.Ice or cold packs can be used after treatment for 10-20 minutes. Avoid alcohol, strenuous exercise, steam, sauna or hot showers for 24-48 hours after Belkyra™ treatment.Only small amounts of fat are dissolved with each Belkyra™ treatment and the body processes the unwanted fat cells without any negative impact on your liver or kidneys.How quickly are results seen and how long will Belkyra™ last?A treatment course of Belkyra™ depends on how much fat needs to be dissolved. Most patients need 3-6 treatments spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart.
