What does LED stand for? Light emitting diode (LED).Light therapy is growing in popularity in both clinics and for at home use.LED light therapy has an established history in skin healing and rejuvenation. The U.S. Navy SEALs began using it in the 1990s to help heal wounds quickly and to help regenerate damaged muscle tissue. Since then, the treatment has been researched for different skin conditions and concerns in aesthetics. An important well studied benefit of light therapy is to encourage collagen and elastin production to help rejuvenate and plump skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Red light also has impressive anti-inflammatory properties to calm and soothe skin; particularly useful in skin conditions like rosacea, psoriasis and acne. There are different wavelengths and each function slightly differently. Clinically proven blue 415nm, red 633nm and near infrared 830nm wavelengths are delivered via unique LED technology at safe and optimised intensities for effective activation of target cells. Benefits of these LED wavelengths can help a myriad of concerns.Blue - The 415 nm wavelength helps diminish the bacteria P. Acnes on the skins surface which contributes to acne. Blue LED can help improve skin clarity and decrease inflammation.Red – 633 nm Red LED supercharges cell energy to accelerate skin repair and renewal, boost collagen synthesis, increase hydration and enhance circulation to reverse the visible signs of ageing. Near Infrared – 830 nm NIR LED targets deeply into the skin to trigger and enhance the wound healing process, calm redness & inflammation, reduce pigmentation and promote healthy skin.LED technology is safe and effective for most patients often with an immediate and visible improvement in skin glow.Miss Ellie May Wright
