As someone who suffers with rosacea, it was always important that I look after my skin to avoid flare ups and irritation. As a rosacea sufferer herself, she knew exactly what worked and what would aggravate my skin further.Avoiding harsh products and keeping out of the sun were the 2 most important rules she tried to pass onto me. Harsh products, especially those with strong fragrances and alcohol, can irritate the skin and leave you looking and feeling worse. It is best to opt for products that have ingredients such as azelaic acid or niacinamide to help calm and soothe the skin.My mother would always tell me that the sun is nobodies friend. Not only does it cause pigmentation and ageing, but it can also cause rosacea flare ups - uncontrollable flushing and redness.Unfortunately, there is no cure to rosacea, but there are many things you can try and do to suppress it. For me personally, I have found that avoiding certain foods (alcohol, spicy, hot drinks) and having laser treatments were the best in keeping my skin at bay.Listen to your mothers - they always know best!Reem Al-Bahri – Front of House
