Alcohol and Skin
Alcohol’s impact on skin health is closely related, as I previously mentioned in my post about gut health.
Excessive alcohol intake can lead to skin dehydration, leaving it dull and more susceptible to fine lines. This is because alcohol functions as a diuretic, increasing urine output and causing the body to lose water and vital electrolytes.
It may also worsen inflammation or trigger conditions like rosacea. Additionally, alcohol impairs the absorption of essential nutrients, especially vitamin A, which is vital for skin regeneration.
To counter these effects, staying well-hydrated, using antioxidant-rich skincare, and limiting alcohol consumption can be beneficial for maintaining healthy skin.
